Brighton is located at 39°58′27″N 104°48′36″W (39.974184, -104.809926). It is often considered a suburb of Denver. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 17.1 square miles (44 km²), of which 17.1 square miles (44 km²) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km²) (0.29%) is water.
